You must have a current, valid U.S. or State, or international driver’s license. All renters and additional drivers must be 23 years or older. No one that is not registered at the time of check out may operate the slingshot while it is in your possession. Renter and additional drivers must be present at the time of the rental with driver’s license for confirmation. The passengers minimum age is 10 and must be able to grasp handholds and firmly plant their feet on the floor with their back fully against the seat backrest.
You must plan ahead for tolls and bring your own EZPASS. Tickets and tolls incurred during your rental will be charged to the credit card used at checkout.
New York State law states that drivers and passengers are required to wear a DOT approved helmet for slingshot rentals. If you choose not to wear one Smooth Slingshot Rentals is not liable for any injury caused to you or any passenger.
Security deposit of $750 for a 2-seater and $1000 for a 4-seater will be held the day of your rental on a credit card which will be refunded 24-48 hours after the return of vehicle and when an inspection is complete.
We are by reservation only: You must complete a reservation online or over the phone in order to secure your rental. Under no circumstances will we cancel another customers reservation in order to accommodate your reservation, regardless of the number of vehicles rented or duration of the rental.
NO burnouts, donuts or off-roading will be tolerated. We take note of the tire thread counts and will bill you for a new tire if there are any signs of such action.

Smooth Slingshot Rentals reserves the right to refuse service to any renter or potential renter at its sole discretion. This right to refuse service applies to all aspects of the rental process, including but not limited to:

Denying rental applications: This may occur if the applicant does not meet the minimum age, driver's license requirements, or any other qualification criteria established by the company.
Cancelling existing reservations: This may be necessary if the renter violates the terms of the rental agreement, exhibits unsafe or reckless behavior, or poses a safety risk to themselves or others.
Refusing service at the time of rental: This may occur if the renter arrives intoxicated, under the influence of drugs, or is otherwise deemed unfit to operate the Slingshot safely.

All vehicle rentals are due back on time. Late fees will be applied after your rental period has expired. There will be a 15-minute grace period. 15-60 minutes late $150, 60-120 minutes late $250 and so on after every hour late.
Please call if you’re running late. Charges will still apply.
We reserve the right to report a vehicle stolen to the appropriate authorities if it is not returned at the date and time indicated in this agreement.
The renter is responsible for bringing back the vehicle with same amount of fuel (Premium/93 octane or higher only) that the rental started with if they didn’t choose the pre-paid refueling option or they will be charged a $65 fee.
Any damage to the rims or more than a half of an inch to the exterior will result in a fee of the security deposit.
Interior damage or excessive dirtiness is not allowed and will be charged a fee of the security deposit. We understand that accidents happen however please take proper care of our vehicles as if they were your own so future renters can enjoy them as well.

No-shows will be charged the full price.
All bookings cancelled within 4 HOURS of rental pick up will be charged 50% of total rental price.
4 to 24 hours of reserved date and time will result in a rescheduling fee of $75.
24 to 72 hours of date and time of rental a credit will be applied for a future rental upon availability.
Rescheduling prior to 72 hours from a date and time of rental will be fully refunded.
Reservations are transferable so if you are unable to go you can gift your reservation to someone else at no charge.

No proration or refunds: If bad weather cuts your rental time short, you are not eligible for a refund or partial credit.
Check weather 24 hours in advance: You are responsible for verifying the forecast before your rental. Reschedule if uncomfortable with rain chances.
Rescheduling within 24 hours: Follow the company's standard rescheduling policy.
Company-initiated rescheduling: The company reserves the right to reschedule your rental in extreme weather conditions for safety reasons.

RAIN POLICY

The vehicles are fully covered under Smooth’s comprehensive insurance policy, but in the event that a unit is wrecked/totaled, the renter would be responsible for the insurance deductible of up to $5,000. Any damage or accident to the vehicle must be reported immediately to Smooth Slingshot Rentals.
You are required to purchase state mandated minimum liability insurance from our insurance provider. The cost for this is $25 per day for a 2-seater and $50 per day for a 4-seater. This insurance is mandatory and must be purchased on behalf of the customer prior to taking custody of the vehicle.
Medical insurance is not provided and is the responsibility of the customer.
All coverage and waivers are subject to the terms and conditions of the rental contract and do not include coverage for property, personal or otherwise, or damage as a result of negligence on the part of the renter or passenger for any illegal use of the vehicle or its use under the influence of drugs or alcohol. If you are ill, or sick, or on any prescription or over the counter medication you cannot operate our vehicles.
